CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- The Warehouse 41 building at 1406 Fort Campbell Blvd. was destroyed by fire early Sunday.
The fire was spotted just after 4 a.m. by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Paddock as he was travelling South on Fort Campbell Blvd. when he smelled smoke. Paddock began checking the area and found a building behind the Starlite Lounge with flames shooting fifty feet or more into the air.
“Even from the other side of the gate, about a hundred feet away, the heat was incredible,” Paddock said.
Firefighters battled the large fire for several hours, but three buildings mostly used for storage were a total loss. More than two dozen firefighters from stations 1, 5, 6, and 7 responded.
Fire Marshal Ray Williams said a cause has not yet been determined for the 2-alarm fire.
Firefighters were still battling hot spots around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Williams said no one was injured.
