CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is investigating a vehicle burglary that occurred on Dec. 16 at the Walmart at 1680 Fort Campbell Blvd.
According to CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien, a woman and her daughter had arranged to sell a cellphone through Facebook Marketplace and met with a potential buyer at the parking lot.
“When the suspect approached their vehicle, he handed the victim an envelope containing only $4. When the victim questioned the amount, the suspect leaned into the car and attempted to take the phone. A brief physical struggle followed before the suspect fled the area on foot,” Beaubien said.
Walmart surveillance video captured the incident and shows the suspect leaning into the vehicle, engaging in a struggle with the victim, and then running from the scene.
