CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The new Walmart Neighborhood Market in Clarksville opened to the community Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The store also features a full pharmacy, fuel station and a free store pickup service to shop millions of products on Walmart.com. The new store will employ up to 95 full- and part-time associates.

“We are proud to be a part of the Clarksville community,” said store manager Nosa Ogiemudia. “We look forward to opening and providing area residents with Walmart’s everyday low prices for their football tailgate parties and upcoming holiday gatherings.”

The Neighborhood Market includes a pharmacy with a full range of products, immunizations and services and Walmart pharmacists ready to assist customers with product and prescription questions. A drive thru pharmacy window makes prescription drop off and pick up quick and easy.

The grand-opening celebration included presentation of over $8,000 in grants from the Walmart Foundation to local community groups. The Clarksville Police Department received $2,000, Urban Ministries, Sunrise Community, USO Fort Campbell and Hazelwood Elementary School each received $1,000 and donations of $500 each went to Manna Cafe, Fisher House, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Hope Pregnancy Center and Serenity House Women’s Shelter.

Local associates will provide a special welcome to members of Clarksville on Saturday, Oct. 3. Local residents are invited to “A Big Family Welcome”, which will give customers a chance to meet Walmart associates and enjoy fun family activities and free food samples while supplies last. Join the celebration from noon to 3 p.m.

The new store will employ up to 95 full and part-time employees and Walmart’s future plans are to open two more Neighborhood Markets in Clarksville.
