CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The newest Walmart Neighborhood Market in Clarksville opened to the community Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 216 Dover Road.

The new store offers a full pharmacy and fuel station and a free store pickup service for online shoppers.

The new store will employ up to 95 full- and part-time associates.

This store is the second of three Walmart Neighborhood Markets opening in Clarksville this fall – the store on Tiny Town Road celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 30 and a third store on Whitfield Road will open in the coming weeks.

“These three new Walmart stores are great additions to the Clarksville community,” said Mayor Kim McMillan. “For this store in particular, we look forward to the positive impact of up to 95 new jobs and convenient access to groceries and fresh produce for local residents.”

Job Opportunities at Walmart
The store will employ up to 95 associates for full- and part-time positions within the store. Applicants interested in careers at Walmart can apply at a store’s hiring kiosk or online at Walmartcareers.com.

Community Giving
The grand-opening celebration includes presentations of $8,000 in grants from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to local community groups including Northwest High School, Minglewood Elementary School, New Providence Middle School, Woodlawn Elementary School, Clarksville Fire Rescue and Fort Campbell Fisher House. The new store will also continue a commitment by Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to fight hunger in Clarksville and across the U.S. Walmart and the Walmart Foundation recently exceeded a $2 billion goal to fight hunger one year ahead of schedule and have donated more than 1.5 billion pounds of food to those in need across the country.

“Clarksville is proud to welcome this new Walmart Neighborhood Market,” said Councilman James Lewis. “Our residents are excited about the shopping conveniences this store will offer, and I am looking forward to the economic impact this new store will bring our community.”
