Wade Henderson Hadley, Jr., age 96, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Tennessee State Veterans Home.

Wade was born May 25, 1920, in Greenbrier, TN, to the late Wade Henderson Hadley and Elizabeth Dabney Hadley. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Edmund Hadley.

Mr. Hadley was a US Army Air Corps veteran, having served in World War II. Wade enlisted as a Private before Pearl Harbor and was honorably discharged as a Major. He was a CBI Hump pilot, having flown 96 missions over the Himalayas. Wade retired from Farm Bureau after 47 years.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 20, at 11:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev. Cynthia Talley and Deacon Dominick Azzara officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Friday, January 20, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the church.

Wade is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louisa Conroy Hadley; two sons, William Wade (Laurie) Hadley and John Conroy (Melanie) Hadley, both of Clarksville; three daughters, Lisa (Terry) Jackson of Lewisburg, TN, Susan Hadley Maynor of Memphis, TN, and Catherine Hadley Birdwell of Brentwood, TN; two brothers, Bill (Peggy) Hadley and Dick (Rogate) Hadley; two sisters, Wena Halliburton of Clarksville and Carrie (Don) Malone of Springfield, TN; eight grandchildren, Austin Jackson, John Jackson, Louisa Jackson Davis, Laura Hadley Wix, Wade Hadley, Mary Catherine Birdwell Williams, Louisa Birdwell, and Elizabeth Hadley; and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wade’s grandsons and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Campbell Fisher House, 652 Joel Drive, Fort Campbell, KY 42223.
