CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Thursday, Aug. 4, voters will head to the polls for the Tennessee State Primary and Montgomery County General Election. If you haven’t signed up to vote, time is running out: The voter registration deadline is Tuesday, July 5.
Elizabeth Black, administrator of elections for Montgomery County, said those persons not currently registered to vote in the county must do so by July 5.
“Anybody wishing to participate in the Aug. 4 election will have to be registered to vote. They can do that in our office, or they can do that online if they have a Tennessee driver’s license at govotetn.com,” Black said.
Starting with this election, Montgomery County will offer a second location for early voting, at the Clarksville Regional Airport on Outlaw Field Road.
Early voting will be open July 15-30 at the Election Commission Office, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404, in Veterans Plaza, and July 18-30 at the Clarksville Regional Airport, 200A Outlaw Field Road.
On Election Day, the polls will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at polling locations across Montgomery County.
If you are currently registered in another Tennessee county or in another state, you must complete an application for voter registration for Montgomery County. Voter registration does not transfer between counties or states.
