CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Time is running out to get signed up if you want to vote in the March 1 Presidential Preference Primary and Montgomery County Republican Primary. The deadline to register to vote is Monday, February 1.
The March 1 Primary election includes Presidential Candidates (Republican and Democratic), Delegate Candidates (Republican only). The Montgomery County Republican Primary is for Circuit Court Judge Part III, Circuit Court Judge Part IV, Assessor of Property and Highway Supervisor.
“We’re trying to give everybody every opportunity they can to come in to register to vote. You don’t have to have your drivers license at this point, you just have to have an ID with your signature in order to register to vote,” said Vickie Koelman, Administrator of Elections for Montgomery County.
Koelman added that in order to vote on March 1 you will have to have a valid photo ID such as a Tennessee State photo ID or a Federal photo ID. If you’ve moved since the last election you will need to stop by the Election Commission Office and get your address changed to make sure you’re casting your ballot in the correct voting district.
There is also a Tennessee State drivers license kiosk inside the election commission office where you can update your drivers license. The Montgomery County Election Commission Office is at 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404 in Veterans Plaza. They are open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
