CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Commission made quick work of its formal agenda Monday evening, but one item was missing: the measure to hire a director of continuous improvement.
The resolution was introduced at the informal meeting on Feb. 6 and stated that Montgomery County is one of the fastest-growing communities in the state, and the position is necessary to efficiently and effectively meet the rising needs and requests of its governmental departments, boards and elected officials.
If approved, the measure would amend the operating budgets of the fiscal year to cover the cost of hiring the new employee, who would be under the direction of the county mayor and chief of staff. The starting salary would be around $122,000 annually with benefits.
Following unanimous approval of the consent agenda on Monday, Commissioner Rashidah Leverett inquired as to why the measure was pulled.
“We have some more meetings coming up. I’ll be meeting with HR, and as soon as we know something else, we will get some more information to you,” responded County Mayor Wes Golden.
No timeframe was given as to when the commission would take up the measure.
