DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Dickson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for community volunteers, at least 18 years of age, to search for the body of missing 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels.
Each person wishing to volunteer must sign up at www.dicksoncountysheriff.com to complete personal information and sign a disclosure in order to be an approved volunteer for the search.
The search will happen rain or shine on Saturday, May 19. All volunteers will meet at 7 a.m. at Dickson County High School on Hwy. 70, where each person will be assigned to a team and will board a bus to head to the search area.
Each volunteer is asked to commit to search the entire day as buses will not return to Dickson County High School until the end of the day. The search will continue until there is no daylight, or until Joe Clyde Daniels’ remains are located.
More information about volunteering can be found here.
Joe Clyde Daniels was reported missing April 4. Days later, the child’s father, 28-year-old Joseph Ray Daniels, was charged with criminal homicide. The boy’s mother, 27-year-old Krystal Nicole Daniels, was arrested shortly afterward and charged with aggravated child neglect or endangerment.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Joseph Daniels killed the boy, who was autistic and non-verbal, hid the body and reported him missing. The child’s body still hasn’t been found.
