CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- Volunteers are needed for the “Sharing United States Colored Troops Stories from Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky” presentations by Dr. Nancy J. Dawson.
The program will take place at Fort Donelson National Battlefield in Dover, Tenn., on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

To make the reenactments a success volunteers are needed for presentation and demonstrations.
A few young people minimum age 16, both men and women, are needed to train in an 8-hour weapons usage program with Fort Donelson National Park. Extra credit opportunities are available for some students.
Practice times will be arranged.
Those who seek to take the 8-hour training program are asked to complete a volunteer form and a Photo Release Form.
Training will include instruction on how to work on muddy wet ground, trying on Union soldier uniforms, leather gear and accoutrements for three students.
Volunteers will also practice in Union soldier uniforms and with the weapons at the same time.
The park ranger will make sure that all weapons demonstrators volunteers meet early on February 22nd, and go over the 19th-century drill one more time, and get used to loading/firing their historic weapons, keeping Safety is a priority for this Historic Weapons Program in the National Park Service.
Additional volunteers needed on the day of the event to set up, take down, chairs, tables, and more.
