CLARKSVILLE, TN − Clarksville Neighborhood and Community Services is requesting volunteers to come together to assist a disabled woman in sorting through her belongings in preparation for a fresh start in a new home.
Volunteers will help create a welcoming and supportive environment, guiding the homeowner through the process of evaluating items, making decisions about what to keep, what to throw away, and moving belongings to designated areas. A dumpster will be provided on-site.
Volunteers will need to navigate uneven ground and cluttered spaces. Work boots or sturdy closed toed shoes are highly recommended. All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver, on site, day of, to participate in this project.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement. T-shirts or long-sleeve shirts are good options. Wear sturdy pants, like jeans or work pants, to protect your legs while navigating through clutter. If you have long hair, tying it back can keep it out of your face while you work. Depending on the temperature, consider layering so you can adjust as needed.
Disposable gloves and masks will be provided, however volunteers are welcomed to bring their own work gloves if preferred.
