CLARKSVILLE, TN − On Wednesday, March 5, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., volunteers are needed to go door to door for the United Way’s Hands On program to check in with those affected by the February flood and gather information for agencies that can support them. Sign up here
Canvassers will travel around the neighborhood, collecting information from homeowners about flood damage so that we might assist them with repairs. This will involve a lot of walking around, knocking on doors, speaking to survivors, and collecting information.
Impact areas are still being assessed, so the meeting location for this project will be emailed out the day before and addresses to canvass will be assigned on site. Volunteers will go out in teams and will never be alone with a homeowner. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, sunscreen, and maybe a hat and umbrella. Canvassing will take place rain or shine. Hands On will provide water and snacks for volunteers throughout the project.
