Vivian Ann Van Beber, age 72, of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2016, surrounded by family after an extended illness at Gateway Medical Center.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 17, 2016, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 18, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Pastor Louie Montoya officiating. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY.

Vivian was the daughter of the late Robert and Pauline Howell, Clarksville, and daughter-in-law of the late Bill Sr. and Ruby Van Beber, Clarksville. She was also preceded in death by her brother Paul “Phillip” Howell, and his son Michael P. Howell.

Vivian graduated from Austin Peay State University (1966). She was a retired elementary school teacher with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, where she enjoyed teaching hundreds of children during her 39 years at Ringgold Elementary School. She also worked as a bank teller and retail sales clerk during her college years.

She was a member of First Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bill Ed Van Beber, Jr.; son, Bill (Rebeccah) Van Beber III; granddaughters, Katelyn and Jenna Van Beber; daughter, Beth (Jay) Fowler; grandson, Aren Eckstein; sister, Janet Carey; and nephew, Carson Carey, all of Clarksville. She is also survived by her niece, Shellie Finch, of Oakland, TN; brother-in-law, Richard (Donna) Van Beber, of Milton, Florida; nephew, Paul (Melanie) Van Beber, of Collinsville, OK; nephew, Mark (Marie) Van Beber, of Guthrie, KY; great nephews, Jake, Tommy, Brayden and niece, Kylie.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
