Virgil Dennis Chester, age 82, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Chester was born August 22, 1940, to the late Walter Ewing Chester and Ruby Carter Chester in Montgomery County, TN. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lyndell Parker Chester and brother, Milford Chester. Virgil is survived by his sons, Mark (Samantha) Chester and Todd (Maura) Chester; his sister, Joyce Wyrick and three grandchildren, Lindsey, Emma and Gracie Chester.
Mr. Chester served in the US Army and later retired from his career as a technician at AT&T. He was a member of Hilldale Church of Christ and a morning walker at the mall.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Hilldale Church of Christ with Brother Steve Kirby officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4th in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. Sunday until the hour of service at Hilldale Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd Chester, Andrew Hale, Johnny Kraeske, Steve Kirby, Garrett Dickerson and David Brantley. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Brantly, Max Brantly, Kenneth Carmac, Hubert Griffey, Jimmy Powell and Tim Thomas.
