Violet Elrod Tapper, age 98, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Walking Horse Meadows Assisted Living.
Violet was born on July 26, 1926, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Arthur William Elrod and Dora Gwendolyn Devers. Violet is also preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Smith; second husband, Harry Tapper; brothers, Bill and Paul Elrod; sisters, Dorothy Shreeve, Dolly Riggins, Shirley Riggins, and Sue Norfleet.
Violet is survived by her brother, Earl Elrod; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Violet was a 40 year member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church and prior to her retirement a dedicated employee of Vulcan Materials.
A graveside service will be help on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, TN. Visitation will be on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of procession at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home.
