CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Austin Peay State University Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a possible suspect in recent campus assault and sexual battery cases.

The first incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Thursday, March 31. The accuser stated the alleged suspect ran toward her, grabbed her and attempted to choke her from behind. The incident occurred between the Clement building and Browning building, near College Street.

The second incident, which APSU Police believe to be related, occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 between the Morgan University Center and Browning building. The accuser reported to police that she was walking toward the APSU Library, between the Morgan University Center and Browning Building when the alleged suspect ran up to her, slapping her on the buttocks, and then fled towards the APSU bookstore. The incident is classified as sexual battery, according to APSU Police.

Both accusers indicated the suspect in the video appeared to be the perpetrator.

The department has implemented focused patrols, utilizing uniformed officers dedicated to foot patrol during specific hours, in the center of campus near the Library and Morgan University Center.
