CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Over the years, having put together a communications background, and having always been intrigued by cell phones, it was not unusual for an Army veteran like Alpha Omega Fry to open AO Cellphone Repair and Sales.

Fry joined the Army National Guard in 2001 and served at Fort Lee and Fort Jackson before serving at Fort Campbell beginning in 2002, where he was honorably discharged in 2005. Fry’s father also served in the Army and had earlier retired at Fort Campbell.

Fry said he has been doing both residential and commercial sales of cell phones with a number of companies for about 15 years, and during that time he was also a supervisor of a call center.

When it comes time for a fellow veteran making plans to leave military service and starting a business, Fry had this advice: “You need to check and see what the need is around your local community. See where you can help and where you’ve got your own niche.”

Fry talked about what he believes when it comes to taking care of his customers. “Treat them like you would treat yourself when it comes to phones. When I receive a phone from a customer, I act like it’s my own phone that I am repairing, so I am very careful when I am repairing the phone,” he said.

“Our prices are very affordable, and we do same-day repair when we have the inventory here, so it takes about 25 minutes for each repair,” Fry said.

AO Cellphone Repair and Sales is also the home of the nonprofit organization S.W.A.T. God Bless America. Fry said S.W.A.T. stands for Speak, Walk, Act and Teach, and they do a lot of homeless outreach and give out blessing bags to those in need.

Fry said his wife Kelsey is a big part of the business, handles the work of the S.W.A.T. nonprofit and gets the items for the homeless. “She is amazing and has a very big heart, and if it wasn’t for her, I don’t know where we would be,” Fry said.

AO Cellphone Repair and Sales is at 2033 Fort Campbell Blvd., Suite H, and they are open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The business also has a second location in Madisonville, Kentucky, at the Parkway Plaza Mall. The store is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and every other Saturday.
