CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – When Jeremiah Delmark retired from the Army in 2014, he began to pursue a new passion. LifeStyle Barbershop was created, a neighborhood barbershop dedicated to providing high quality grooming services to the Clarksville and surrounding communities.
Delmark saw the need for a safe, fun and transformational environment for young and older men. His skills as a barber became evident and developed while serving time oversees. He joined the growing trend of “vetprenuers” in Clarksville.
“While being deployed in the middle of the mountains, the time came where we all needed to get haircuts, so I offered my services. After completing my first haircut, I realized cutting hair became an escape from my current reality. Years later, cutting hair continues to be my escape and motivation,” Delmark said.
The Lifestyle Barbershop provides a unique lounge type atmosphere that maintains a military friendly environment. Many of the barbers employed are prior military. Jeremiah wanted a comfortable space for mothers when bringing their kids for a haircut, but also manly enough to be a “Man Cave.”
When asked what suggestion he would give a veteran interested in business ownership, he stated, “take the time to research similar businesses. Find a way to stand-out, also be inclusive and ensure no matter race, religion or sexual preferences, clients feel welcomed.”
Barbershops continue to be a growing industry. The men’s grooming industry was worth $20.3 billion in 2015 and is expected to increase to more than $26 billion by 2020 (Statista). Barbershops are one of the only sectors exempt from e-commerce competition because there is no way to get a haircut online.
Lifestyle Barbershop offers a range of services from a quick touch up to a quality haircut, hot towel shave, and beard services. Appointments for services can be made using the booksy scheduling app, or calling 931-919-0489.
