WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) announced that Kyle Johnson has joined his staff as Nashville area field director.

Johnson has an extensive background in both government and politics. Most recently, he worked at a Clarksville-based firm where he consulted state Senator Mark Green (R-Clarksville).

“Kyle brings a wide range of experience and a strong commitment to public service to this position, and I am pleased he is joining our team,” said Corker.

“Senator Corker has set a high bar of providing outstanding constituent service and remaining actively involved in communities across the Volunteer State, and Kyle is a tremendous addition to our team,” said Todd Womack, Corker’s chief of staff. “His military background and public and private sector experience uniquely qualify him for this position, and we are excited to have him represent Senator Corker in the Nashville area.”

From 2009 to 2013, Johnson was a sergeant in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division and served two deployments to Afghanistan. He was a sniper team leader during Operation Enduring Freedom and performed missions in a combat environment. Johnson was also recognized by the Army for his exceptional service. Today, he continues to serve our nation as a team chief in the Army Reserves.

After leaving active duty, Johnson moved to Nashville and interned in the Tennessee House of Representatives for Speaker Pro Tempore Curtis Johnson (R-Clarksville). He later worked as a service counselor at the Tennessee Department of Treasury.

Johnson received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Austin Peay State University. He began his position as the Nashville area field director on June 1 and will cover Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Lawrence, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson counties.
