Update, 12:15 p.m.: Divers have recovered the body of a woman from the van that went into the river, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
After several hours of coordinated response efforts, emergency crews recovered the van. The woman and a dog, both dead, were inside. The woman has not been identified, MCSO said. The Montgomery County Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.

SOUTHSIDE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A vehicle went into the Cumberland River Friday morning south of Clarksville.
At about 7:38 a.m., rescue crews were dispatched after a passing tug boat saw the vehicle enter the water near the Lock B South boat ramp, according to the Montgomery County Fire Department.
It is unknown if the vehicle is occupied, MCFD said. The vehicle has been tagged, and team divers are on the scene.
MCFD units, along with Clarksville Fire Rescue, Montgomery County EMS and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Correction: The location is south of Clarksville in Southside, off Lock B Road.
