CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A family has been displaced after a vehicle fire damaged their home Wednesday, July 9 around 11:06 a.m. at 2256 Old Russellville Pike in Clarksville.

According to Chief Ray Williams with Clarksville Fire Rescue, the fire began in a vehicle parked in a garage area of the home. The fire spread to the house in the utility and kitchen areas.

The blaze caused heavy smoke damage throughout the home.

No one was injured, but firefighters were unable to locate the family’s two cats, who may have been outside at the time.

The cause of the fire in the vehicle is unknown, and Williams said it will be difficult to determine due to the extent of the damage.

The local Red Cross will assist the family.
