OAK GROVE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police (KSP) are investigating a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on Interstate 24, at approximately the 81 mile-marker, on Tuesday, October 27, at 10:25 a.m.

KSP said Stacey Daughtry, 48, Port St. Lucie, FL, was operating a 2013 Ford Explorer westbound on I-24. As traffic was slowing, Daughtry applied her brakes. The vehicle hydroplaned on the wet road, which caused her to lose control.

The vehicle then struck two light supports and exited the right shoulder of the roadway. It came to rest in a ditch.

Daughtry was not injured. Her passenger, Kelli Wills, 42, Port St. Lucie, was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Both women were wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper First Class Michael Dennis is investigating the collision. Trooper First Class Jim McArthur, Oak Grove Fire & Rescue and Oak Grove EMS assisted at the scene.
