CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Vanderbilt LifeFlight hosted an open house and ribbon cutting Thursday for their new Clarksville-Montgomery County Ambulance Base. The ribbon cutting also welcomed Vanderbilt LifeFlight as a new member of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The local LifeFlight Ground was established in 2021 and made their first patient transport in June of that year. Their new facility is at 600 Alfred Thun Road.

“Vanderbilt LifeFlight is kind of an all-inclusive transport service. We have traditional ground, which is what we do here, we have critical care transport service, and most people know about Vanderbilt LifeFlight as our air service, which we also have here in the Clarksville area over at Outlaw Field,” said Kayla Hixson ,manager for the LifeFlight Ground in Clarksville.

Hixon added, “We all work hand in hand, and whichever mode of transport is best for the patient, that’s how we transport them. So if traditional ground, which is what we are, is more appropriate for the patient, we transport those patients from here to wherever they need to go.

“We are always in service, we have three units here, and we’re staffed 24/7,” Hixon said.
