CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The addition of age groups to the Tennessee vaccination rollout plan means that starting in January, seniors 75 and older will be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Those 75 and older can call the Montgomery County Health Department at 931-648-5747 to make an appointment for a vaccine, county spokeswoman Michelle Newell confirmed today.

The offices are closed today and Friday for New Year’s, but residents can call Monday to make appointments.

Timeline for vaccinations (Tennessee Department of Health)

After finishing the current phases of the 1a1 and 1a2 populations (health care providers and emergency responders), vaccine providers will transition to the 75-plus-year-old category and then the 1b population (K-12 and child care teachers and staff), according to state news releases.

Those 65 to 75 will then be worked into the rollout schedule.

Appointments will be available based on vaccine supply and how long it takes to get 1a1 and 1a2 populations vaccinated, and that will vary county by county.
