CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The month of March has been designated as Pet Health Month by the Montgomery County Veterinary Medical Association.

The public is being asked to help prevent rabies by having their dogs and cats vaccinated.

All throughout the month in Montgomery County residents can take their pet to any participating veterinary office during regular business hours to have their animal vaccinated against rabies at the reduced clinic rate.

The cost is $14 per dog or cat which includes a $1 registration fee. Tennessee law requires all dogs three months old and cats six months old and over to be vaccinated.

The Division of Environmental Health at the Montgomery County Health Department says protect your pet, family and livestock by having your dog(s) and cat(s) vaccinated at the clinic most convenient to you.
