CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – USO Fort Campbell celebrated the grand opening of their new RP/6 Center in Clarksville with a ribbon cutting Thursday, November 12. The center is a new partnership for the USO that supports service member as they leave the military.

The RP/6 program focuses on building community ties by connecting transitioning military personnel and their families with local people and organizations that understand reintegration challenges and have resources to support them as they reenter civilian life.

USO President and CEO, Dr. J.D. Crouch II was on hand for the grand opening and talked about RP/6. “What this program is designed to do is to help them build a plan for transitioning out of the military and gives them the opportunity to become productive members of civilian life,” said Crouch

Tonya Wacker, Site Manager for the center mentioned the long term support offered by RP/6. “We work with soldiers 12 months before they get out of the military and we make sure they use all of the resources that they have to make their transition successful,” said Wacker.

Wacker added that they work with the servicemen and women for another 12 months after they make the transition. That help also goes for service member’s families and care-givers to help them make the change back into civilian life.

The center in Clarksville is the first of five RP/6 locations the USO is scheduled to open across the country this fall near military installations and there are plans for more sites to be opened in 2016.

You’ll find the USO RP/6 Center at 1885B Fort Campbell Boulevard in Clarksville, across from Grandpa’s. The office is open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and plans are to have expanded hours in the future. To learn more visit rp6.org or call 931-919-4313.
