Fort Campbell, KY. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Gordon Food Services (GFS) and the USO have teamed up to provide snacks for those who visit the USO Fort Campbell Center.
USO Fort Campbell will host a snack donation drive on Saturday, October 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Gordon Food Service located at 2809 Wilma Rudolph Blvd in Clarksville.
The USO mission is to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to the nation.
“The USO Fort Campbell center welcomed 105,236 guests into the building between January and September this year. Each guest receives a free snack and beverage and keeping up with the purchase of that many snacks has been a wonderful challenge for us,” says Kari Moore, Center Director for USO Fort Campbell and USO Nashville.
Nathan Rees, Store Manager at Gordon Food Service shared, “We’re excited to host this event for the USO right now because we are piloting a new 10% discount for military families. We’re hoping to bring awareness to the new savings opportunity while also helping the mission of the USO.”
The USO needs individually-wrapped snacks, including granola bars, cheese and crackers, fruit snacks, nuts, chips, and more. Donors will also be able to purchase cheese sticks or yogurt. Customers shopping that day at GFS will receive a handout with needed supplies and snacks.
If you’d like to donate supplies but aren’t able to make the donation event on Saturday, please call or email Kari Moore at 270-660-9068 or kmoore@uso.org to make arrangements for a later donation.
