CLARKSVILLE, TN. (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The COVID-19 pandemic that began early last year has left many people in need of financial help.
If you are one of those people who need help paying late rent or utility bills, Urban Ministries Grace Assistance may be able to pitch in up to $8,000 in assistance. Debbie Ashcraft, program director with Urban Ministries, said the organization has received a grant from the City of Clarksville.
“Everyone knows COVID has been an obstacle for businesses and families, but with this grant we are able to help households with up to $8,000 in assistance. They will have to have been affected by COVID in some way,” Ashcraft said.
Ashcraft added maybe they lost their job, their hours were cut, or they contracted COVID and it threw them behind in their bills.
Those individuals or families seeking help must reside in Montgomery County and they will need to provide documentation that they were affected by COVID from their employer, from unemployment, or medical documentation.
Urban Ministries has served the Clarksville-Montgomery County community since 1984 with utility assistance, food, clothing, prescription vouchers, local bus passes, and other needs.
