CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Those in the vicinity of Governor’s Square Mall may notice unusual activity around and above the complex this Sunday, September 21.
A helicopter will be lifting HVAC (Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning) units onto the roof as part of a comprehensive, seven-month renovation project at the mall. Aerial operations will commence at 6 a.m. and should conclude in time for the standard Sunday morning opening of 11 a.m.
While construction crews position the HVAC units, parking areas closest to the mall will be closed to traffic. Access roads and outparcel parking areas on the mall property will remain open for use.
The work is being conducted by Air Crane, Inc., of Winder, Georgia. In the event inclement weather creates a safety hazard for the helicopter or ground crew, the airlift will be rescheduled for another day.
The HVAC installation is part of a multi-million dollar, seven-month renovation of Governor’s Square Mall. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November 1, with a Grand Reopening Celebration scheduled for November 15-16.
