CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – As summer temperatures continue to rise to dangerous levels, the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region is asking for donations of fans and air conditioners for those struggling to beat summer’s heat.

Each year throughout the summer months the United Way collects donated fans, air conditioners, as well as accepting financial donations which are used to buy fans and air conditioners to give to those who need them. Fans and air conditioners of all different sizes and types are accepted and greatly appreciated.

Ginna Holleman, CEO of the United Way talked about the need for donations. “Summer’s temperatures bring great struggles for those without the ability to cool their homes. United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region seeks to alleviate these dangerous environments by collecting and distributing fans and small unit window air conditioners to those in need,” said Holleman.

Holleman added that they get numerous phone calls each day from individuals and families looking for this type of help. To try and help everyone on their growing waiting list, United Way is issuing a call to action to the community and asking for donations of fans and air conditioners.

If you would like to help someone keep cool this summer, donated heaters can be dropped off at the United Way office, 529 N. Second Street, Suite 1 in Clarksville or for more details call the United Way at 931-647-4291.
