CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Victory triumphs as United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region exceeds its $1,000,000 fundraising goal for the 2014-2015 campaign, officially ending at 11:59pm on April 30th.  The success of this year’s superhero themed campaign is a result of heroic efforts by community members to champion support for critical needs in the local area.

“On behalf of all who have contributed to our mission, United Way is thrilled to have achieved this goal together. This is the community’s victory and the collective success of every individual, business and organization committed to bettering the lives of others. We are proud to report that the Live United spirit has made such a powerful impact and honored to join forces with our community partners to serve those in need. Our gratitude soars for all who have given and work such wonders, said Ginna Holleman, local United Way CEO.

United Way funds are distributed each year to local partner agency programs that focus on Education, Health and Financial Stability initiatives. Campaign giving increases allow United Way to address unmet and emerging needs in the community, as well as to strengthen the support provided to existing programs.

“United Way recently partnered with Austin Peay State University to conduct a Community Needs Assessment. The results of this study help United Way to identify the most critical needs in the community and strategically align resources to address them. We are encouraged that this year’s campaign success will provide the opportunity to further that network of support,” said Holleman.

The final campaign total will be announced at United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region’s Annual Meeting and Campaign Celebration on May 19th at the Riverview Inn. Beginning at 11:30am, the event will recognize the extraordinary contributions of United Way volunteers and contributors. The public is encouraged and invited to attend. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling the United Way office at (931) 647-4291.
