CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region hosted its Annual Membership Meeting and Campaign Celebration at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center Thursday, May 19 and announced the 2015-16 United Way campaign raised a total of $1,061,557.

Campaign Chairman Norm Brumblay said the year’s total is the sum of the 2015-16 campaign revenue plus nonprofit funding that was received from Montgomery County and distributed in the fall of 2015. “We are grateful to each individual, business, and organization for your contributions, as well as for the opportunity to expand United Way’s revenue potential through the past year’s partnership with Montgomery County,“ said Brumblay.

The United Way installed a new board of directors at the meeting and a number of prestigious awards and recognition’s were presented to supporters of the United Way.

The Welch Founders Award, recognizes exemplary support of a leadership society member of the United Way, and was given to Jack B. Turner and Legends Bank earned the Ben C. Parks Award, recognizing the workplace partner with the best overall campaign.

Trane/Ingersoll Rand picked up the number one spot as the campaign with the highest total giving of its employees by contributing $180,806. Montgomery County Government received the Inspire Award as the workplace that inspires a total Live
United commitment within its business and in the community.

The Way to Grow Award for a business or organization that shows considerable campaign growth or a first campaign was presented to Hendrickson. Don Jenkins, of Jenkins & Wynne took the Ambassador’s Award honoring a business leader who exemplifies the qualities of a United Way ambassador.

Kathee Marco received the Volunteer of the Year Award, Michelle Dickerson was honored as Outstanding Board member of the Year and the Director’s Award was presented to Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency.

The United Way 2015-16 campaign along with Thursday’s meeting reflected a Mission Possible theme which recognized local contributors, volunteers and partners for their dedicated services as agents of change. United Way CEO Ginna Holleman talked about those who worked with the campaign.

“We are here today to honor those who accepted an important assignment to improve lives and create positive change in our community. Those who embarked on a mission to uncover valuable resources, gather evidence of critical humanitarian needs, and recruit others who want to make a difference,” said Holleman.
