CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region (GCR), in partnership with Austin Peay State University, will conduct a series of six focus groups aimed at identifying local concerns in Education, Health and Financial Stability.
Information obtained will allow United Way to effectively direct resources to address the community’s most pressing humanitarian needs.
Local residents are invited to participate and share views on the issues presented. Sessions will be offered March 21 – April 10, 2016 from 5:30-6:30pm on Austin Peay’s campus. Focus group members will receive a $25 gift card for participating.
United Way GCR’s community needs assessment lays the foundation for its annual community investment process. This diligent process is facilitated by a local Allocations Committee. The all-volunteer committee is comprised of a diverse group of community members that utilize a well-established framework to invest donor contributions in partner programs effectively addressing the greatest needs.
By reviewing program outcomes, along with the financial and operational administration of each partner agency program, the work of this committee ensures that United Way contributions are achieving measurable, lasting impact.
Those interested in participating in the focus group may register by contacting Dr. William Brooks, APSU Department Sociology, at (931) 221-6424 or brooksw@apsu.edu.
