CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Traffic was blocked on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Sunday, Dec. 8 after a multiple vehicle crash around 6:37 p.m.
The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) responded to the crash near Center Pointe Dr. According to Officer Natalie Hall, all vehicles and witnesses involved were traveling southbound on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. at the time if the crash. One witness told police she saw an object, later identified as a vehicle door, fall out of the back of a Chevrolet S-10 driven by Michael A. Poole. The woman made an emergency stop to avoid hitting the door, when a Ford F-150 driven by Peter C. Huff stopped abruptly behind her.
Christopher B. Pease, who was driving a 2011 Kawasaki Motorcycle, attempted to stop by applying the motorcycle’s front brakes, which caused him to be launched forward off the motorcycle and onto the roadway. Both Pease and his motorcycle hit Huff’s truck, causing Pease serious injuries.
Another motorcycle rider, Alexander Trent Miller, who was driving a 2009 Yamaha Motorcycle, laid his motorcycle down on the roadway to avoid hitting the truck. Miller was also injured.
Pease and Miller were transported to Gateway Medical Center.
Pease is the owner of both motorcycles, and did not have insurance for the Yamaha. He was cited for failure to use reasonable care and financial responsibility.
Poole left the scene in his Chevrolet S-10 without providing information. He was eventually contacted and denied both his involvement in the crash and knowledge of the scrap vehicle door that had fallen in the roadway.
There is no further information at this time.
