CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two people have been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to sacrifice a man.
Arrest warrants say the victim told Clarksville police he was stabbed inside a mobile home on Power Street by the suspects, who said they were going to sacrifice him to Santa Muerte, a Mexican deity described as the personification of death.
The stabbing occurred December 26, 2017, but 41-year-old Bernardino Rodriguez Molina wasn’t arrested until Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018.
According to an arrest warrant, the victim said the incident began when Molina started crying. When the victim asked him why, he said Molina responded with, “You are about to die.” Molina allegedly told the victim he was going to sacrifice him to the saint of death and told two other suspects, Sarah Colleen Miller and Daniel Rodriguez Molina, to close all the doors and windows to keep the victim from escaping.
The victim said he ran to a bedroom in an attempt to escape but was caught by the suspects and attacked. He told police they stabbed him in the arm, struck him in the head, and punched him. He ran to another room inside the mobile home where another struggle occurred before he was finally able to escape through a window.
He said he saw Miller driving a truck with both Bernardino and Daniel Molina inside as he ran to another home to call police. The suspects caught sight of him and gave chase, so the victim said he hid underneath another mobile home until police arrived.
Investigators found blood and Bernardino Molina’a ID at the scene. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated assault.
Miller was arrested in February of 2018 and was charged with attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping.
Daniel Molina has an active warrant for his arrest but has not yet been charged.
