CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two men have been indicted in the shooting death of 32-year-old Desergio B. Taylor, who was shot multiple times inside his home on Bennett Drive
Marc Anthony Crowder, 35, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder in perpetration of a felony and attempted aggravated robbery, and Decory Smith, 34, is also charged with first-degree premeditated murder in the perpetration of a felony.
On Jan. 15, witnesses told police Crowder and Smith were allowed inside Taylor’s home, and as soon as they were inside, they were heard saying, “You know what this is,” and then multiple gunshots were heard, according to a previous report.
The two men, who also sustained gunshot wounds, fled in a gray Jeep Cherokee, while Desergio Taylor remained inside the home fatally wounded.
One of the men leaving the scene was identified as Smith.
While officers were still on the scene at Bennett, they were notified by dispatch of two individuals that arrived at the Tennova Healthcare’s Emergency Room in a gray Jeep Liberty suffering from gunshot wounds, the report said.
After being released from the hospital, both Smith and Crowder were charged with Taylor’s murder.
Third co-defendant
In February, a woman named Ricki Cheyenne Adkins was charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence.
Adkins is accused of withholding evidence and destroying evidence to hinder Clarksville Police’s investigation.
Adkins’ case was bound over to the grand jury in February.
Smith and Crowder will be arraigned in Judge Jill Bartee Ayer’s court in early August.
Taylor, a Clarksville native, was a father of four children.
