CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Christian County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is wrapping up an investigation into firearms thefts from two addresses in the county.

Captain Chris Miller with CCSO said victims reported stolen firearms from the 6000 block of Pembroke Rd. and the 1000 block of Elmo Rd. within the past several weeks.

Throughout the investigation, Detective Mark Reid was able to track down the two suspects.

20-year-old Joseph Daniel Weatherford of Hopkinsville was arrested for Burglary 1st Degree. He is accused of stealing three guns from an address on Elmo Rd.

23-year-old Hunter J. Barnett of Crofton was arrested on the strength of a warrant for Burglary 1st and Theft of Firearms. Police believe he was involved in both burglaries.

Both Weatherford and Barnett were booked into the Christian County Jail.

Between the two residences, a total of five guns were stolen. So far, only one of the firearms has been recovered and investigators are tracking down the remaining four.
