CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Police investigated two separate armed robberies that happened within 34 minutes of one another Monday night in Clarksville.

A release from the Clarksville police states that the first robbery occurred at 8:41 p.m. at the Dollar General on Madison Street near South 3rd Street. Thieves took money from the safe before leaving.

The second robbery occurred at 9:15 p.m. at the Papa Murphy’s on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard near the 101st Airborne Division Parkway, where the robbers took money from the store’s safe.

Police reported both robberies had similar witness statements. Both involved two men, with at least one of the men holding a gun.
