CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Police have charged two 18-year-old women in connection to the shooting death of a 17-year-old male.

Officers responded the shooting call Sunday, Aug. 19 around 7 a.m. on Granny White Rd. and found the victim dead from a gunshot wound.

Investigators determined 18-year-old Nautica Spicer of Clarksville have been playing with a firearm that was initially unloaded. It was later loaded but Spicer did not realize and pointed it at the teen boy and pulled the trigger. The teen died at the scene.

It is unclear who loaded the gun at this time.

Police said Spicer left the home, took the gun apart, and discarded the pieces at several different locations. Kerigan Leann Silverwood, 18, was also at the scene at the time of the shooting and police said she helped Spicer take the gun apart and hide the pieces.

The suspects and the victim were all friends.

Spicer was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with criminal homicide and tampering with evidence. Her bond was set at $750,000.

Silverwood was charged with tampering with evidence. Her bond was set at $250,000.
