It’s also recommended that you change batteries in home safety devices including smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and emergency weather radios.

The shift moves one hour of daylight to the morning from the evening.

The time change is not observed in Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.
