CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The third annual Turkeys for Troops is coming up in two weeks, this year with 2,000 turkeys for military families.

The event began in 2018 as a way to give back to Fort Campbell families. In its first year, the event gave away 1,000 turkeys. In year two, it was 1,500, and this year, 2,000 turkeys will be given away.

“The Clarksville community is very supportive of the active-duty soldiers, veterans and military families in our region,” said Charlie Koon, VP/Director of Corporate & Military Business Development at F&M Bank. “We are excited about the opportunity to give back to those who sacrifice so much to preserve our freedom.”

Active-duty soldiers, veterans and their families with a valid military ID can come to James Corlew Chevrolet in downtown Clarksville, 722 College St. (across from Austin Peay State University) on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 8 a.m. to noon or until the turkeys run out.

After presenting a photo ID, the family will be provided one free frozen turkey. This is a drive-thru, outdoor event with social distancing efforts.

F&M Bank, James Corlew Chevrolet, LifePoint Church and the Maynard family are the title sponsors for this year’s event. Other supporting sponsors include 5 Star Media Group, AJAX Distributing, Tristar Beverage, Gordon Food Service Store, Austin Peay State University and Lanier Landscaping.
