CLARKSVILLE, TN – In honor of Memorial Day, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has announced it has satisfied the mortgages on the homes of 20 military families, including the Clarksville home of U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3, Ryan Connolly.

Connolly died on April 6, 2018, when the night vision system failed causing his helicopter to crash during an aviation training assignment. He was survived by his wife, Sierra, and their two sons, Tristan and Cameron.

In a private ceremony, the foundation presented Sierra with documents confirming that the mortgage on her home had been paid in full. The 20 homes being delivered this Memorial Day span 11 states from Tacoma, Washington, to Newton, New Jersey.

“Memorial Day is a day to acknowledge those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This Memorial Day, when you are enjoying your day off, maybe seeing friends or family for the first time, I ask you to take a minute to think of those families who will never see their loved ones again. These heroes gave up their lives for our freedom, and we will give the families they left behind a place where they can live free of the burdens of a mortgage,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is dedicated to honoring the sacrifice of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on Sept. 11, 2001. For 20 years, the foundation has supported our nation’s first responders, veterans and their families by providing these heroes and the families they leave behind with mortgage-free homes.
