CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (Clarksvillenow.com) Time is running out to get signed up if you want to vote in the August 4 Tennessee State Primary and Montgomery County General Election. The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, July 5.

The August 4 election includes the Tennessee State Primary for U.S. Representative, State Senate, and State Representative for Districts 67, 68 & 74. For the Montgomery County General Election, it’s Circuit Court Judge Part III, Circuit Court Judge Part IV, Assessor of Property and Highway Supervisor. There are also three Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board seats, Districts 2, 4 & 6.

“We’re trying to give everybody every opportunity they can to come in to register to vote. You don’t have to have your driver’s license at this point, you just have to have an ID with your signature in order to register to vote,” said Vickie Koelman, Administrator of Elections for Montgomery County.

Koelman added that in order to vote you will have to have a valid photo ID such as a Tennessee State photo ID or a Federal photo ID. If you’ve moved since the last election you will need to stop by the Election Commission Office and get your address changed to make sure you’re casting you ballot in the correct district.

The Montgomery County Election Commission Office is at 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404 in Montgomery Veterans Plaza. They are open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
