CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The truck that left the scene of a serious motorcycle injury wreck was found Tuesday, according to Clarksville Police.
CPD also said in a Facebook post that contact has been made with the owner of the truck.
The truck, which left the scene on Providence Boulevard near Market Street, was described as a ’90s model, gray Ford F-150, two-door with extended cab The truck had damage to the rear of the passenger side according to photos shared to Facebook.
Surveillance video depicted the truck pulling out in front of the motorcycle and then crossing multiple lanes of traffic to flee the scene.
The motorcycle rider, Dwight Lee Carter, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He is still at the hospital in critical condition, and his family has started a GoFundMe page to cover his medical expenses.
Heather Arrington, one of Carter’s five children, said her father “isn’t going to make it.”
“They were going to go and do hip surgery on him this morning, and when they went to do the MRI to make sure that everything was stable enough and functioning, his brain wasn’t functioning at all,” Arrington told Clarksville Now.
“They’re not sure if it happened during the accident or if it happened when he got to the hospital, but he had a massive stroke,” she said.
The investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
