CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The City of Clarksville does not designate a time or rules for traditional Halloween trick or treating, except that the city’s regular curfew law for minors remains in effect.
The city ordinance Sec 10-205 – Curfew for Minors states:
It shall be unlawful for any minor fifteen (15) years of age and younger to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, or play in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places or public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots, or other unsupervised places between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on the following day. Furthermore, it shall be unlawful for any minor over the age of fifteen (15) years, but under the age of eighteen (18) years, to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, or play in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds or other public grounds, public places or other public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots, or other unsupervised places between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
It is provided, however, that the provisions of this section shall not apply to a minor accompanied by his parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor, or where the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate business directed or authorized by his parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor, or if the minor is married or is a member of the armed services.

Weather is expected to be wet and cold, as temperatures drop to near freezing conditions overnight. The National Weather Service predicts by late Thursday afternoon, temperatures will drop to upper 30s to mid 40s. A northwest wind may produce winds of 10 to 15 mph, making it feel like 30 to 35 degrees during trick or treating.
If families are participating in trick or treating activities this evening, dress warmly in layers, including hat and gloves.
