CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – In two weeks, nearly 200 participants will dive in and sprint to the finish at the inaugural Tri Clarksville Triathlon. Presented by Team Magic, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Clarksville, the event will be held Sat., Aug. 23 at 7:30 a.m. There is still time to sign up, with great offers and discounts, for all classes.

Courses
Depending on one’s athletic stamina, the Sprint will include a 400 meter swim, 20 kilometer bike and 5K run, and the Intermediate will offer a 1500 meter swim, 40 kilometer bike and 10 kilometer run. The swim will start at the Clarksville Marina at Liberty Park with participants diving into the Cumberland River. From the swim, challengers will transition to the bike in an out-and-back course. The run portion will span from Liberty Park to Riverside Drive in an out-and-back course. The event will conclude at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

For those not able to complete all three segments of the race, participants can choose alternative options. The Aquabike includes the swim and bike portions of the triathlon. The Cyclorun provides a bike and run course for those who do not want to swim. Two and three person relay teams are also being accepted. All divisions can be found online at team-magic.com under the registration.

Volunteers
All good events are made up of great volunteers. Non-profits are encouraged to volunteer as a group and, in turn, will receive a donation to their charity from the proceeds of the race. Kayak clubs and outfitters are also encouraged to serve as water personnel on the Cumberland River. Find out more about volunteering by contacting Kelly Hagerty, with Team Magic, at Kelly@team-magic.com.
