CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville’s only half marathon is just 12 weeks away: The Valor Run Half Marathon and 5k will be September 15 near Beachaven Winery.

This race will feature a half marathon, 5k, and Memorial Mile. Whether you’re a first-time runner or a seasoned racer, there is a training plan that will have you performing at your best this fall.

Fleet Feet Clarksville is offering training plans for both the Valor Run half marathon and 5k. Programs are segmented into a “fast” or a “finish” group, allowing you the choice of training intensity. All programs include weekly group runs and walks with Pace Group Leaders and a Head Coach who will provide training tips and injury prevention information. Group members encourage and support each other during the 12 week training and even get special recognition and course support the day of the race.

Fleet Feet Clarksville is the official training partner of the Valor Run. Be prepared for race season and stop by their store on the corner of Wilma Rudolph Blvd and Trenton Road next to Starbucks. From shoes and apparel, to accessories and race day essentials Fleet Feet’s expert staff will have you at your best.

The inaugural Valor Run Half Marathon and 5k presented by CDE Lightband will be Saturday, September 15 at Beachaven Winery. Participants can choose from the Half Marathon or 5k distance and run a fast, flat course through Montgomery County. Runners will each be provided two race bibs, one for their time and one to honor a fallen service member. All participants can join in the Memorial Mile presented by AARP. This one-mile tribute will honor the sacrifice of our own Fort Campbell soldiers. The 2018 beneficiaries of the Valor Run are Medals of Honor and Clarksville Rotary.
