CLARKSVILLE, TN − The Clarksville-Montgomery County Traffic Safety Taskforce is hosting a Motorcycle Safety Convention on April 26 at the Clarksville Regional Airport. This event will include fun educational activities for members of the motorcycle community.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Traffic Safety Taskforce, a group comprised of first responders that started several years ago, is focused on traffic safety. This group, which has monthly meetings, recognized the rise in motorcycle-related traffic crashes within the community. The group sought out several methods to help reduce the rise in motorcycle crashes.
Working with many of its partners within the community, the Traffic Safety Taskforce started planning the Motorcycle Safety Convention. Its members believe that enjoying the freedom of riding a motorcycle in our community should be a safe experience for everyone. Clarksville is a rapidly growing community, and they acknowledge that our community has to work together to keep it safe. This Motorcycle Safety Convention will not only bring awareness and education to the motorcycle community but can also build relationships between first responders and the motorcycle community. This is a vital link in making our roadways a safer place for riders.
The event will include several activities to include a bike show with awards, a poker run, raffles, vendors, and food trucks. Entry to the bike show is free, and the biker community is encouraged to enter their bikes for the show.
This event is free to the public and is open to everyone. The gates will open at 10 am and the event will close at 6 pm. This is a fair-weather event, and updates will be provided by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in case of an inclement weather cancellation.
