Update, 8:20 a.m. May 5: The person killed in Thursday’s crash on Madison Street has been identified as 56-year-old Mark Norman of Clarksville.

His was the truck that hit the tree.

The other driver appeared to be uninjured. His truck rolled over, and he was able to get himself out, Beaubien said. He was checked by EMS at the scene.

Update, 5:55 p.m.: The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash this afternoon died as a result of his injuries. Fatal Accident Crash Investigators (FACT) have been processing the scene and the victim’s name will not be released until the next of kin notifications have been made.

The roadway is back open.

Update, 5:10 p.m.: Two vehicles were involved in the wreck. A Toyota Tacoma pickup smashed into a tree, and a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup came to a rest at the bottom of an embankment in the tree line.

No information on the condition of the drivers has been released.

Lanes of Madison Street remain closed.

Update, 4 p.m.: The westbound lanes of Madison Street are closed while crews respond to the wreck.

Tennessee Highway Patrol officers are using a drone to investigate the crash scene.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Police are working a two-vehicle crash on Madison Street near 10th Street that has resulted in injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:32 p.m., and Madison Street between 10th and 12th streets are shut down as police work the scene according to a news release from Clarksville Police Department.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route until the roadway can be opened back up.

No further information has been released.
