Update, 5:20 p.m.: Traffic is backed up in both directions, southbound from McClure Street and northbound from Dean Drive.

Update, 4:20 p.m.: The intersection may be tied up for a few hours as crews work to replace the pole and clean up the debris, according to CPD. Northbound traffic is backed up to Dean Drive. There are related backups on Cumberland Drive and Crossland Avenue.

Update, 3:50 p.m.: The vehicles in the head-on crash were a black pickup truck and a black sedan. It appears the pickup also crashed into a utility pole, snapping it in half.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is currently working a wreck with injuries on Riverside Drive at Crossland Avenue.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:58 p.m. and is causing traffic congestion in the area, according to CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien.

“The Northbound lanes are currently shut down, and traffic is being diverted onto Crossland Ave,” Beaubien said. “Motorists are advised to find an alternate route if possible or prepare for a delay in their commute.”
